About Me

Well if you've not already gathered by the blogs not so original title, my name is Mrs Rachel O'Kelly, but just Rachel is fine, no need to beformal around here! I'm an almost)0 part-time working Mum,
and I live in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.
I have been married to the very calm, patient and reasonable Mr O for 14
ears. He has to be all those things as he lives with me, and I posses zero of those qualities.

We have one child a  beautiful daughter S who is 10, and although our family is small, we both have large families between us. I'm truly at my happiest when our small house is full of family, friends, food and laughter. We also have one atopic dog, one very grumpy cat and one very mischievous kitten too - how could I forget them? They cost a fortune, ruin the house, eat, vomit and emit bodily fluids - not always in that order.

There are undoubtedly funnier, more interesting and better edited blogs out there than mine, and nope I'm not trying to be humble here, there are. So thanks for taking the time to visit mine.

I work part time for a major high street retailer but I am secretly a frustrated writer at heart. Not finishing my degree is probably one of my biggest regrets in life. So, until I get around to finishing that best seller I started to write (10 years ago on maternity leave) or I pluck up the courage and find a gazillion pounds to finish my degree, I'm going to blog.

I blog about all sorts of things parenting related - although I certainly don't claim to be an expert on any of it, I think we're all just doing our best when it comes to Motherhood. I also blog about pregnancyholidays, general rants and musings, my journey with anxiety and even zombie apocalypse plans, yup really. So you see everything is covered.
I like humour, I like to swear a bit and I have an unhealthy obsession with Tom Hardy, he literally appears in almost every blog, yes even the Zombie apocalypse plan .

I'm pretty ordinary really, my Insta-feed isn't very glamorous and their is a distinct lack of selfies as I'm unable to master the art of it, I'm OK with that though, My #OOTD  (Yes  I know how to hashtag) would be Primark/H&M rather than White Company/Joules, and I still waste a big portion of my wages on crap I don't need in Primark and W.H.Smiths so expect lots of pictures of that. Based on that glowing endorsement I bet you've followed already eh?

I love nothing more than spending time with my family and friends, and in no particular order: Cooking, eating out, eating in and just food in general! Coffee, reading, wine, adventures, movies, wine, discovering new places, rediscovering old places, holidays, wine, trashy TV, oh and Tom Hardy. Obviously.

I wear my heart on my sleeve, I try and always have a smile on my face, no matter what life throws our way, and believe me life likes to throw lots of things our way! I have a soft spot for Catherine Cookson, Bronte and have a tendency to put my foot in my mouth.

I've been writing this blog for over 12 months now, I wasn't sure exactly where it would lead, if anywhere really (To Tom Hardy preferably) However so far I've regularly been featured as Mumsnets 'Blog of the Day', I interviewed the Lord Mayor of Chester, written reviews, appeared on local radio, and mainly experienced things that 12 months ago I might not have had the confidence to do. As someone who suffers with anxiety in the past, blogging has given me something positive to focus on.

You can follow our goings on over on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I'd like to tell you I'm funnier and more interesting on there but that would be a lie, I do like a natter though so it would be lovely to hear from you!

* 37, I'm 37. I have no idea why I wrote thirty something.
